There are many ways to get involved. These can come in the form of donations of your time and talents, or in the form of financial participation. For those interested in volunteering, there are on-going opportunities including:
- After School Programs - Help direct children to appropriate class rooms, serve as parent monitor for some programs. Help with paperwork and email. Quarterly basis, after school 3-4:30 pm, one day per week (or more if you would like).
- Art Teacher Assistant - Help the art teacher frame our students work, assist in displaying art, and help in art room with various art projects. Year long; various hours.
- Art Walk - Serve on the committee that coordinates the annual student art show/picnic at the end of the school year. April and May, hours vary depending on task.
- Book Fair - Help set up and sell books during the twice yearly book fair events to raise funds for the school library. Fall and Spring.
- Family Fun Nights - Help with planning the PTA's three annual Family Fun Nights. Serve on committee to plan and brainstorm event(s) or just help out on the night of an event. This is a great way to do a little or a lot depending on the amount of time you have available. October/March/May.
- Free Money Program - Assist the coordinator in marketing and organization of the program to raise optimal amount of funds. Year long.
- Giving Campaign/Silent Auction - Help with our annual fundraising event. Procure items for auction, plan event, and serve on committee. Year-long opportunities to volunteer as little as a couple hours a month or several hours a week to prepare for the event. Heavy workload is February/March.
- Grant Writing - Research and write grants for funding for various PTA projects. Year long.
- Jogathon - Help with this major PTA fundraiser. This is the first major school event and there are many fun tasks to be done either prior to or on the day of the event. Volunteer opportunities during the early fall available.
- Kindergarten Tours - Serve as school ambassador and tour guide during the open enrollment period. Short orientation recommended. January/February, 2 hours per week.
- Membership - Assist the membership chairman with PTA membership marketing and promotion. Help process simple paperwork. Year long.
- PTA/Classroom Liaison - Be the primary contact person for your child's individual classroom when information is needed for PTA functions (i.e., Family Fun Nights, Yearbook, Read Across America, Reflections, etc.) Email and phone skills are essential. Year long, one person per classroom.
- Read Across America Day - Organize annual Read Across America Day with Daniel Bagley staff member(s). Early March, 2 -3 hours.
- Reflections Art Program - Assist chairperson with this annual event that showcases student artwork. Help students with projects at workshops during lunch, mount finished work, help set up for reception. November and December. 2-3 hours (or more, as desired).
- Rummage Sale - Assist in the annual Daniel Bagley on-site rummage sale. Large team for preparation and event help needed. May/June, 3-4 hours (or more, as desired).
- Staff Appreciation Week - Serve on committee for this annual spring event honoring our faculty/staff. Deliver flowers, coffee, help set up luncheon. May, 1-3 hours (or more, as desired).
- Treasurer/Bookkeeping - Assist the co-treasurers with check collection and processing, as well as budget maintenance. Year long.
- Yearbook - Assist with photo-taking, content coordination, and sales of the annual Daniel Bagley yearbook. Year long.
- Web/Newsletter Help - Assist with publicity, newsletter, and/or website.
- Wreath Sales -Help with the marketing, ordering, and distribution of wreaths during this annual fundraiser. November/December, 2-4 hours/week.
