There are many ways to get involved. These can come in the form of donations of your time and talents, or in the form of financial participation. For those interested in volunteering, there are on-going opportunities including:
- After School Programs - Help direct children to rooms, serve as parent monitor for some programs. After school until 4:45PM one day per week (or more if you would like).
- Art Walk - Serve on the committee that coordinates the annual student art show/picnic at the end of the school year. May and June, hours vary
- Bee Green Committee – Join the NEW Bagley environmental stewardship group and determine what projects to work on.
- Book Fair - Help set up and sell books during the yearly book fair events to raise funds for the school library. Dates yet to be determined for 2009-10.
- Classroom Liaison - Be the contact person for your child’s individual classroom when information is needed for PTA functions. Year long, one person per classroom.
- Clip n’ Chat - Join other parents as we work on teacher projects and assemble the weekly "kid mail." This volunteer opportunity works well for parents who are watching younger siblings. Drop in when you're able - Thursdays, 9:20-11:20am in the lunchroom.
- Event Assistance – Help with hosting or baking for small events such as the first day Welcome Coffee, Principal's Coffee, breakfast/lunch for teachers during training days, etc.
- Family Fun Nights - Help with planning the PTA’s annual Family Fun Nights, including the Harvest Howl party and Family Movie Nights. This is a great way to do a little or a lot depending on the amount of time you have available. October/March/May.
- Finance/Budget – Assist the Co-Treasurers with budget planning, tracking or auditing.
- Free Money Program - Assist the coordinator in marketing and organizing this valuable fundraising program. Need volunteers to sell scrip at events year long.
- Giving Campaign/Raffle - Help with our largest annual fundraising event. Procure items for raffle, plan event, serve on committee. Year-long opportunities to volunteer as little as a couple hours a month or several hours a week. Event is Feb/March.
- Grant Writing - Research and write grants for funding for various PTA projects. Year long.
- Grounds/Gardening - Help keep the school’s ground looking clean and fresh all year. Attend periodic weeding parties. Opportunities are year round.
- Jogathon -Help with this important PTA fundraiser. There are many tasks to be done either prior during the week of September 28th or many volunteer opportunities on the morning of Friday, October 2nd (event day).
- Kindergarten Tours - Serve as tour guide during the open enrollment period. Short orientation recommended. January/February/March, 3-6 hours.
- Music/Assemblies – Assist with coordinating vocal music in classrooms and/or coordinating 3-4 assemblies for school (both activities paid for by PTA).
- Reflections Art Program - Assist chairpersons showcasing student artwork. Help students with art projects at workshops during lunch, mount finished work, help set up for reception. November and December. 2 – 3 hours (or more, as desired).
- Rummage - Assist in the annual Daniel Bagley on site rummage sale. Large team for preparation and day of help needed. May/June, 3 – 4 hours (or more, as desired).
- Teacher Appreciation - Serve on committee for this annual spring event honoring our teachers/staff. Deliver flowers, coffee, help set up luncheon. May, 1-3 hours
- Wreath Sales -Help with the marketing, ordering and distribution of wreaths during this annual fundraiser. November/December, 2 – 4 hours/week.
- Yearbook Help -Yearbook coordinator is seeking 2-4 people interested in taking photos at events, as well as a volunteer able to coordinate sales of yearbooks in May/June.

We want to keep our children as safe as possible. In order to volunteer at Daniel Bagley Elementary or in any Seattle Public Schools, you are
required to complete a background screening. Please download these forms,
complete them and bring it to the school office for processing.
