Providing traditional and public Montessori education in the Green Lake community.

Daniel Bagley offers a choice of two linked educational models in one public school community. Both our contemporary methods curriculum and our certified Montessori program provide a strong academic foundation for your child's education. Academics, the arts, sciences, technology and social skills are all combined into an exceptional school experience. Our thriving school community includes a diverse cultural mix of families.

Principal's Message


Dear Daniel Bagley Families,

I am hoping that by now you have all had the opportunity to conference with your son or daughter’s teacher to hear about their progress this year in the classroom and school. We value the time teachers have with parents/guardians in order to help each and every student succeed.

Just last week I had the good fortune to present our Continuous School Improvement Plan (otherwise known as the C-SIP) to our education director and three other Seattle Public Schools at the John Stanford Center. Every school has a plan and it aligns with the Superintendent’s Strategic Plan. Academically speaking, not only are we working hard to ensure our literacy work is continuing (year two of Writers Workshop as well as having a Reading Specialist) but our primary focus this year is on mathematics and science. We are also focused on our overall climate at Daniel Bagley. My hope is that this gives you a quick glimpse into the work we are doing as a staff at Daniel Bagley School in order to ensure academic/social progress for your student.

Night at the Museum: February 25th

Come to Bagley’s Open House on February 25, 6:30 pm with a theme of “Night at the Museum.” The Open House is an opportunity for teachers and students to showcase their work with parents and guardians. Children are welcome and encouraged at this event.

Bagley School Visits

Considering Daniel Bagley for the 2010/2011 school year? Come to the Daniel Bagley open house for prospective parents on January 28 from 6:30 to 7:30 pm. School visits will also be held on March 9, 11, 16, and 18 from 9:30 to 10:15 am. Please call the office to sign up 252-5110.

Giving Campaign Party Parents on the Playground: February 27th

Please join parents, staff and friends for a wonderful evening to celebrate Bagley and raise funds to support our students. Daniel Bagley's Giving Campaign Fundraising Party will take place on Saturday, February 27, 2010 from 5:30-10:30pm at the Leif Erikson Hall, 2245 NW 57th St in Ballard.

Reserve your spot, please RSVP. To volunteer at the event please sign up! Download the donor form and sponsor letter to procure items for the raffle and auction.

Support Our School: 2010 Giving Campaign

Donate to the Giving Campaign any time of the year! Your donation can help alleviate the school budget cuts, allowing the PTA to continue funding field trips, classroom tutors, music instruction, technology, as well as basic school and classroom necessities. Every dollar pledged is tax-deductible and may be eligible for matching contributions from participating employers.

Flu Season

The flu season is upon us! We are seeing many more students with fevers, coughs and sore throats. Please remember to keep your students home if they have a fever, and make sure the fever is gone for 24 hours before they return.
